There is a big gap between a sinful man and a righteous God. The reason for this gap is sin. When sin entered the world, it separated man from God his creator. It destroyed the relationship between man and God; the two parties could not accept each other anymore.
When man lost this relationship, he became vulnerable to the consequences of sin as clearly stated in the bible that “the wages of sin is death”. The plan of the devil was fulfilled. He came to kill, to steal, and to destroy but the awesome news is Jesus came as the great liberator and mediator between a sinful man and a righteous God. Through Jesus it’s now possible for man to go to the righteous God in a deeper relationship. Wow! That’s powerful and amazing! Jesus Christ makes it possible for man to be redeemed from sin and be accepted by a righteous God. The Mediator came with a saving plan that through him alone man can go to the father. Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me”.
This is a great message that every sinner must hear. All the nations of the world must get this redeeming message. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God but through Jesus all can be saved.
The mediator bridges this gap through us the church or the believers. We see Paul standing in the gap with this powerful message as a preacher and an apostle speaking the truth in Christ. “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus” The mediator has sent us to the lost, the sinners to tell them that yes, they have sinned but there is a way out.
Jesus said “Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”.
He gave authority to his disciples to go in the gap, preach the gospel and baptize people into the family of God. This implies that the gap has to be bridged; they have to be accepted into the family of a righteous God by believing in Jesus Christ and by being baptized.
It’s our responsibility as the Church of Christ to take the message of the mediator to the hurting world.
Can you join the campaign today and spread the message to the lost and hurting world?
How do you begin? Begin with those close to you, the oppressed, the needy, the un- churched, those that are depressed and confused in your neighborhood, in your school and at your work place. Speak the word, pray for the sick, look up and wait for the power of the mediator to fall on the lost.

Vilken nåd att få vara hängiven ända in i mål. Att få hålla fast vid sin första kärlek till både Jesus och sin familj i mer än 40år. Sådana ledare är värda all heder och uppskattning i vårt nyckfulla samhälle.

Därför var det gott att i söndags få säga stort tack till pastorsparet Claes och Ulla Frankner för allt de betytt för Citykyrkan, vår huvudstad och vårt land! Claes går i pension och har tjänat i olika församlingar från norr till söder och jag är övertygad om att många med mig vill tacka för sann hängivenhet och trofasthet!

Er uppmuntran, er Jesuspassion, er trygghet, era förböner, er självavinnarmentalitet och mycket mer – ni har satt djupa sköna avtryck i Citykyrkan. Tack för all kärlek. Vi älskar er!

Och som sagt på avtackningsfesten: ”Det bästa ligger framför!”

”Ha din glädje i HERREN, han skall ge dig vad ditt hjärta begär. Överlämna din väg åt HERREN, förtrösta på honom, han skall göra det.” (Ps 37:4-5)

De flesta av oss skulle vilja påstå att vi minsann är vår egen och att vi styr våra steg. Men hur sant är det egentligen? Är vi verkligen så fria som vi tänker oss? Och, vad är frihet?

Jeremia säger, ”Människans väg beror inte på henne själv, det står inte i vandrarens makt att styra sina steg”[1]. Det påståendet bör få oss att fundera på vad eller vem som i så fall styr våra steg.

Är frihet att kunna välja vad som helst eller är det att kunna välja det som är rätt? Frihet i Bibeln handlar inte så mycket om att välja vad vi vill som att kunna och vilja välja det som är rätt och gott.

Ett exempel: Ett barn växer upp med en våldsam pappa som slår både mamman och barnen. Vad är risken för en pojke i denna familj att hamna på en dålig bana i livet? Ganska stor. Har pojken en fri vilja? Ja, men han är inte fri.

Jesus säger, ”Den Sonen gör fri, blir verkligen fri”[2]. Att tro på Jesus och bli frälst är att bli fri. Ordet frälst kan härledas från frihalsning, vilket betydde att en träl befriades från sitt halsjärn och förklarades fri. Vår bakgrund, arv och miljö påverkar våra val dagligen. Många gånger väljer vi det vi vet är fel och därmed destruktivt för oss.

Vi vet att vi behöver ”frihalsning” om vi likt Paulus utbrister, ”Jag kan inte fatta att jag handlar som jag gör. Det jag vill, det gör jag inte, men det jag hatar det gör jag…Vem ska frälsa mig från denna dödens kropp?”[3]

Vi kan testa oss och se om vi är fria genom att se på vårt förhållningssätt till bland annat: Pengar (girighet), mat (frosseri), lögn, sex, alkohol, droger, avundsjuka, rädslor, ångest. Kan du avstå, eller måste du ha det? Är du fri att välja eller tvingas du att välja?

Paulus skriver också, ”Allt är tillåtet för mig, men allt är inte nyttigt. Allt är tillåtet för mig, men jag skall inte låta något ta makten över mig.”[4]

Bara Jesus kan bryta de tvingande mörka makterna över våra liv. Det är bara Jesus som kan göra oss verkligen fria att styra våra steg mot det goda.

With God nothing is impossible. Philippians 4:13, tells us that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

How is this possible? Well, it’s very possible if you can only put  your trust in Jesus. It’s possible if you teach your self to trust God with your life. Not a part of your life but all of your life. In all areas of your life that you can think of.

You will be amazed how God will take care of you.

Paul tested what am talking about, when he taught himself to trust God when he hard enough and even when he didn’t have.

Later he shares with us his personal testimony and he says ”I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”

This is your season to have a personal encounter with the enabling power of Jesus Christ.

Påsken är på allt sätt en fantastisk tid. Vi ser och vi känner att våren är på intåg. Långhelg med några extra dagar ledigt ger mer tid för familj och vänner, god mat och vila. I centrum för allt detta goda står det oslagbara Kristna påskbudskapet.

Mitt hjärta suckar, ”tänk om hela världen kunde förstå och tro på vad Jesus gjort för oss människor!” Att det som var omöjligt för oss har Gud gjort möjligt genom sin Son Jesus Kristus. Vi kan inte nå upp till Gud, hur mycket vi än försöker räcker vi inte till – därför kommer Gud till oss. Guds Son blir en människa och identifierar sig med hjärtat av vår problematik och ställer sig i gapet mellan Gud och människa. Jesus blir vår medlare och gör slut på konflikten mellan det mänskliga och det gudomliga.

Någon har sagt: ”Hjärtat av människans problem är problemet med hennes hjärta.” Vårt hjärtetillstånd utan Gud är ondskans ursprung. Bibeln visar att vi inte kan hantera vår frihet och vi väljer ofta det enkla före det rätta, det är vår svaghet som drar så mycket elände över oss.

Det var denna svaghet Jesus konfronterade i en trädgård utanför Jerusalem kvällen innan korsfästelsen. Han valde det rätta före det enkla och utbrast, ”ske din vilja Fader, inte min”[1]. Detta val skulle leda till hans död och sedan hans uppståndelse, på dessa två händelser vilar hela mänsklighetens hopp.

Kristendomens crescendo, påskens budskap löser människans hjärteproblem. Genom en personlig tro på Hans uppståndelse händer något med vårt inre, vårt hjärta förvandlas och återförenas med Gud. Då börjar livet på allvar.

Har du funderat på vad Jesus och lärjungarna egentligen lyfte fram när de predikade evangeliet (det glada budskapet) innan Jesus gått till korset och uppstått från de döda?

Om jag skulle lyfta fram kärnan av evangeliet idag så skulle det handla om Guds Son som blev människa – levde, dog och uppstod från de döda i den brustna mänsklighetens ställe – så att vi alla kan få ett upprättat liv i gemenskap med Gud, nu och för evigt.

Men vad predikade Jesus? När man gör lite efterforskningar i Lukas evangelium så blir det ganska tydligt. Jesus säger: ”Jag måste predika evangeliet om Guds Rike”[1]. Alltså, det glada budskapet handlar om Guds Rike. Vidare ser man att Guds Rike verkar vara synonymt med himlen[2]. Med den bakgrunden förstår man bättre Jesu uppmaning: ”Predika: himmelriket är nu här”[3]. Slutsatsen blir då att det glada och goda budskapet är att himlen är nu tillgänglig, det som finns där ovan är inom räckhåll.

Hur kan vi bäst beskriva det som kännetecknar himlen? Jag skulle vilja påstå att frid är det ord om fångar himlen bäst. Frid i Bibeln är kanske bäst förstått genom det hebreiska ordet, eller konceptet shalom.  Shalom talar om ett helt och obefläckat tillstånd där alla relationer är hela och överflöd råder.

Det kristna budskapet är att himlens shalom är genom Jesus tillgängligt för alla människor här och nu. Fullheten av detta kommer vi få när vi lämnar jordelivet, men har Jesus sagt att himmelriket är här och nu så menar han det.

Var uppmuntrad i världens bästa budskap och dela det med alla!

We have a mission to accomplish in society. The mission is to influence our society with the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
”And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit”.

This was a prophetic word from God through Prophet Joel promising the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The Prophecy tells the future of the church and the role of the church in society.
This prophecy was in part fulfilled in the New Testament but the promise goes farther. The out pouring is still going on. God is still empowering his people for the call by pouring extraordinary gifts upon the church and various graces to all believers. He says “I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh” – Before, these gifts were confined to a particular group of people or nation but now they shall be upon all people and all that believe. Everyone within the church by the help of the Holy Spirit has the ability to prophesy – to speak the mind and the heart of God to his or her society that is covered by darkness.

Every believer has the ability to extend God’s Kingdom to their society, workplaces neighborhoods, and families and to everyone who comes in contact with them. The power of the Holy Spirit that makes it possible is already available in every believer’s life. What you need to do is to step out in faith and Love.

When the Spirit of God comes upon a believer, it’s a confirmation that the believer is now a kingdom representative on earth. The believer is automatically anointed and becomes Christ’s ambassador.
“Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us:……..”
Every time you demonstrate the power of the gospel, heaven backs you up because you are just a representative. Therefore, don’t hesitate to preach the gospel and to perform miracles. It’s not your responsibility if there is any kind of response or not. The one you represent is fully responsible and he is good at what he does.
God has already appointed you as His mouthpiece. Once you step out, He will begin to show you things that He wants you to do and He will open your eyes and your heart to grasp the mysteries of salvation and society transformation.
“For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon you, and his glory shall be seen upon you”.
The darkness is covering our societies, work places, neighborhoods, families, towns and cities.
The people of the world are confused, stressed and depressed but the Lord has risen upon you, let his Glory be seen upon you as you step out in faith and as you reach out to the people around you under the present heavy and dark evil blanket.
Begin to arise in your community and among the people around you. Let them begin to experience the light of God which is in you.
You are a carrier of the light and the glory of His majesty. Start to excise the power you have by speaking the words of encouragement to people around you and those that you come in contact with.
God wants to use you to bring positive influence in your society.

Söndagen den 26 februari predikade jag om behovet av att vara fylld av Anden för att göra det Jesus kallat oss till. Om vi bara ska vara trevliga människor som är goda samhällsmedborgare så kan det gå hyfsat bra för en del av oss utan Anden. Men nog var det lite mer än så Kristus kallade oss till…

”Där ni går fram skall ni predika: Himmelriket är nu här. Bota sjuka, uppväck döda, gör spetälska rena och driv ut onda andar. Det ni har fått som gåva, ge det som gåva.”[1]

Om det är detta jag ska göra som kristen känner jag plötsligt ett stort behov av den Helige Ande. Vem kan i sin egen kraft förlösa det himmelska på jorden? Inte ens Jesus, som själv är Gud, väljer att förlösa himmelen på jorden genom sin egen kraft. Han inväntar Anden som kommer över honom vid dopet.

Nu på söndag fortsätter jag på temat om livet med Anden. Vi ska se vad som blev konsekvensen i Jesu liv från det att han döptes, himlen öppnades och Anden kom över honom som en duva.[2]

Allt som sker i Jesu liv är inte bara för oss att beundra utan även för oss att efterlikna. Han är den förstfödde bland många bröder[3]. Därför har Gud genom en Son fått många söner och döttrar som alla tänkta att vara hans avbild. VI alla vandrar på samma jord, under samma himmel, med samma kraft och med samma uppdrag: att predika och demonstrera evangeliet om Guds Rike[4].

(En fråga att fundera på tills på söndag: Jesus och lärjungarna predikade evangeliet, men vad innehöll deras budskap innan Jesus dött och uppstått?)
