There is a big gap between a sinful man and a righteous God. The reason for this gap is sin. When sin entered the world, it separated man from God his creator. It destroyed the relationship between man and God; the two parties could not accept each other anymore.
When man lost this relationship, he became vulnerable to the consequences of sin as clearly stated in the bible that “the wages of sin is death”. The plan of the devil was fulfilled. He came to kill, to steal, and to destroy but the awesome news is Jesus came as the great liberator and mediator between a sinful man and a righteous God. Through Jesus it’s now possible for man to go to the righteous God in a deeper relationship. Wow! That’s powerful and amazing! Jesus Christ makes it possible for man to be redeemed from sin and be accepted by a righteous God. The Mediator came with a saving plan that through him alone man can go to the father. Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me”.
This is a great message that every sinner must hear. All the nations of the world must get this redeeming message. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God but through Jesus all can be saved.
The mediator bridges this gap through us the church or the believers. We see Paul standing in the gap with this powerful message as a preacher and an apostle speaking the truth in Christ. “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus” The mediator has sent us to the lost, the sinners to tell them that yes, they have sinned but there is a way out.
Jesus said “Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”.
He gave authority to his disciples to go in the gap, preach the gospel and baptize people into the family of God. This implies that the gap has to be bridged; they have to be accepted into the family of a righteous God by believing in Jesus Christ and by being baptized.
It’s our responsibility as the Church of Christ to take the message of the mediator to the hurting world.
Can you join the campaign today and spread the message to the lost and hurting world?
How do you begin? Begin with those close to you, the oppressed, the needy, the un- churched, those that are depressed and confused in your neighborhood, in your school and at your work place. Speak the word, pray for the sick, look up and wait for the power of the mediator to fall on the lost.

With God nothing is impossible. Philippians 4:13, tells us that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
How is this possible? Well, it’s very possible if you can only put your trust in Jesus. It’s possible if you teach your self to trust God with your life. Not a part of your life but all of your life. In all areas of your life that you can think of.
You will be amazed how God will take care of you.
Paul tested what am talking about, when he taught himself to trust God when he hard enough and even when he didn’t have.
Later he shares with us his personal testimony and he says ”I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”
This is your season to have a personal encounter with the enabling power of Jesus Christ.

We have a mission to accomplish in society. The mission is to influence our society with the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
”And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit”.
This was a prophetic word from God through Prophet Joel promising the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The Prophecy tells the future of the church and the role of the church in society.
This prophecy was in part fulfilled in the New Testament but the promise goes farther. The out pouring is still going on. God is still empowering his people for the call by pouring extraordinary gifts upon the church and various graces to all believers. He says “I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh” – Before, these gifts were confined to a particular group of people or nation but now they shall be upon all people and all that believe. Everyone within the church by the help of the Holy Spirit has the ability to prophesy – to speak the mind and the heart of God to his or her society that is covered by darkness.
Every believer has the ability to extend God’s Kingdom to their society, workplaces neighborhoods, and families and to everyone who comes in contact with them. The power of the Holy Spirit that makes it possible is already available in every believer’s life. What you need to do is to step out in faith and Love.
When the Spirit of God comes upon a believer, it’s a confirmation that the believer is now a kingdom representative on earth. The believer is automatically anointed and becomes Christ’s ambassador.
“Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us:……..”
Every time you demonstrate the power of the gospel, heaven backs you up because you are just a representative. Therefore, don’t hesitate to preach the gospel and to perform miracles. It’s not your responsibility if there is any kind of response or not. The one you represent is fully responsible and he is good at what he does.
God has already appointed you as His mouthpiece. Once you step out, He will begin to show you things that He wants you to do and He will open your eyes and your heart to grasp the mysteries of salvation and society transformation.
“For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon you, and his glory shall be seen upon you”.
The darkness is covering our societies, work places, neighborhoods, families, towns and cities.
The people of the world are confused, stressed and depressed but the Lord has risen upon you, let his Glory be seen upon you as you step out in faith and as you reach out to the people around you under the present heavy and dark evil blanket.
Begin to arise in your community and among the people around you. Let them begin to experience the light of God which is in you.
You are a carrier of the light and the glory of His majesty. Start to excise the power you have by speaking the words of encouragement to people around you and those that you come in contact with.
God wants to use you to bring positive influence in your society.

The church has been given the power to expand and grow as we reach people around us and far away from us.
The work will always begin from where you are and with those close to you.
The bible says in Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (NKJV).
Everyone has a “Jerusalem”. It could be your neighborhood, your work place, your close friends, or your family members.
It’s your responsibility to help those around you find peace in Jesus by leading them to Him and helping them to become part of the church. Everyone you meet should be a fish in the net.
Every believer has the power to multiply and see growth.
The word power means “the ability to see results”. The reason why we have not seen results manifested in spiritual multiplication and church growth is because we have not stepped out to reach souls and lead people to find peace in Jesus Christ. His testimony is powerful enough to convict sinners, to restore lives, to motivate and encourage people to live their everyday life with Jesus.
The only thing we have to do is to use the power in the testimony of his death and resurrection from the dead. The Holy Spirit now lives in us with so much power to stand boldly as we share his testimony and see results afterwards.
The call to win souls to the kingdom of God is to every believer.
It’s a “WE -THING” Some people think it’s only the evangelist’s or the pastor’s responsibility to fill up the church building with people every week. I want to encourage all of you reading this today that God has called all of us to be witnesses to him, because the Holy Spirit lives in us permanently, witnessing to him has to become a life style, wining souls should be something we enjoy to do and be part of.
Let me help you find practical ways of accomplishing this. Begin with your friends that you hang out with, your workmates; your classmates; your neighbors and your family members.
Do friendship evangelism. Go out of church and find non-Christian friends. Bring them close, invite them to your house if possible or invite them for coffee and hang out with them with a target of introducing them to the life changing testimony of Jesus Christ.
Talk about some good things that are happening in your church. Find some exciting moments you have experienced at your home church. Be happy every time you meet with your target groups of people. Know that people will always want to join success.
The world is full of stress and people are depressed, don’t even beat them with their sins and condemning statements, handle them with extra care until they are ready to trust you, listen to what you have to say and receive what you want to offer.
Your attitude during this process will determine how successful you will be in leading people to Jesus and how many you will disciple.
Don’t forget to have a winning attitude, knowing that the power of the Holy Spirit permanently lives in you.
Let us fill our church with new disciples this year.

Today we shall be ending the month of fasting and prayer here at City Church. We have had a very wonderful time in the presences of God. It’s been a time of sacrifice, a time of divine encounters, and a time of renewal. We have given 31 days of this month of January to God because we love him and honor him . We have asked God to send more of his glory upon our church and city.
We are now ready to move and step into total victory. It’s going to be interesting to see what God has for us this year. I am fully convinced that 2012 is totally different, full of victories, kingdom influence and many more achievements. I know that evil is increasing around us but I also know that the Scripture says “and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4, NKJV).
God answers us all the time we go to pray. Sometimes we feel like our prayers hit the wall next to us and bounce back, but it’s not true. You see prayer is like vapor. When God’s people begin to pray, it’s like after it has rained and the sun heats the ground. Water comes out of the ground in form of vapor; it goes up in the skies; the skies get heavy and releases rain. That is how prayer is. When we pray, prayer goes up to God and He answers us back just like the rain comes back to the ground.
Let us now begin to walk in our answers believing that our father has already answered us. Jesus said “I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you”. God has bound himself to his word. Our prayer is based on God’s promises. In Mark 11:24, the bible says: “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them”. This is a powerful promise from a faithful God.
Our God is a Father who wants his children to talk to him and ask him what they want. Jesus asked a very profound question in Matthew 7:11, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!”
Can you imagine how much God is about to release to us this year?
What makes prayer effective is praying with understanding. We need to understand who we are to God and who God is to us. When you pray with a good understanding, you have confidence and authority through the word of God.
Galatians 4:4-7 says: But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, ”Abba, Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. (NKJV)
Friends, we are no longer slaves but sons; not only sons but also heirs through Christ Jesus. We have access to whatever belongs to our father. Begin to prayer with this understanding. Stop praying like a slave, Pray like sons and daughters of your father God. Remember prayer is never with out results!

So many times we face limitations which hinder us from being what God wants us to be, achieving what God has planned to give us, and stop us from experiencing the life which Jesus paid for.
What limits you from experiencing the best that God has for you?
Could it be fear?, may be your past experiences which caused you pain and regrets; you feel condemned, and may be society has in one way or other contributed on your set back.
All that I have mentioned above and what I have not mentioned will lead to fear of taking steps of faith even when the will of God is made known to you.
The word of God says “Arise, shine; for your light has come!” (Isaiah 60:1, NKJV)
“Arise” means to mount up; move to a higher place, to get out of sleep, or to stand up. It also means to be revived.
The day you received Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, He came in your life and appeared as a great light. He wants to manifest His supernatural power through you.
The will of God for your life today is to arise beyond any kind of limitation and begin to achieve God’s best in your day to day Christian life.
Jesus says “I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly”.
Can you rise up by faith to live this life that Jesus is talking about?
You are still able to arise and see your dreams come true. You can still achieve what you think you lost.
You can still serve God and live for Him and experience life in Jesus as your Lord and savior.
I want you to know that there is always more in Jesus!
